Brush and storm cleanup

Georgian Bay and Muskoka get wind, and the properties it lands on are frequently empty when it does. Forks, a bucket and the cargo box clear downed limbs and brush, drag what has come across the lane out of the way, and haul the pile to where it can be dealt with. It is also the spring job on most treed lots: a winter's worth of deadfall off the lawn and out of the beds before anything else can start.

Who buys this

  • Absent cottage owners after a wind event
  • Property managers with several lots to check
  • Anyone facing a winter's worth of deadfall in April

Sequence on site — in order

  1. Lane cleared first — nothing else matters if nobody can get in.
  2. Downed material dragged and forked clear of buildings and services.
  3. Brush and limbs boxed and moved to a pile or off site.
  4. Lawn and beds raked over where the machine has worked.
  5. Photographs sent if you are not there — you see what we found and what we did.

What brush and storm cleanup costs

Sheet A-517 — Operated hire — the machine with an operator

OPERATED HIRE

What a cleanup visit costs

Quoted per job

Operator included

You are hiring the machine with him on it. He runs it, it stays on his insurance, and nothing about the work transfers to you.

Operator
Included
You are buying hours of work with him running the machine. Nothing is released to you and no liability transfers.
Minimum charge
Stated with your date
Every hire has one. You see the figure when we confirm the date — never after the work.
Float — machine to site and back
Charged separately
Mobilisation is its own line, not something buried in the hourly rate. Georgian Bay and Muskoka distances are real and we would rather show them than hide them.
Attachment changes on site
No second visit
The quick-attach is the point of this machine: augering, grading and hauling can all happen on the same visit.
Photographs of the work
Sent either way
Standard on any job where the owner is not on site.
Anything on a hydro line
Not our work
That is a utility call. We will make it clear rather than take it on.

Before we roll

  • Access measured — the narrowest gate, gap or lane the machine has to pass.
  • Ground condition agreed — lawn, septic bed, new sod and soft spring ground are settled before the day, not discovered on it.
  • Somewhere for the spoil — off site, stockpiled, or spread. It has to go somewhere.
  • Locates cleared where anything is being dug (Ontario One Call — five business days).

HST shown as its own line. Price honoured as quoted.

Book the machine

Tell us the site and roughly what needs doing. We reply with a date and what it will take — hours, minimum and float shown before you commit.

No obligation — we reply within one business day.

How it is sold

By the hour, with a minimum. Nobody can price a storm sight unseen.

WHAT MOVES IT

Volume, how far it has to be moved and whether it leaves the property.

Also part of — Restoration

Storm work often turns up something structural. If it does, we quote that as its own job rather than fixing it on the clock.

Restoration & Specialty Work

Sheet A-517 — Typical job

What a typical callout looks like

  • A wind event overnight, an absent owner, and a lane nobody can drive up.
  • Lane opened, deadfall pulled clear of the cottage and the hydro line, brush stacked.
  • Hourly with a minimum, because nobody can price a storm from a phone call.
  • Photographs before and after, since the owner is not on site to see either.

The machine is new to the business this season, so there are no record photographs filed against it yet. What is on file is the finished restoration work it feeds — 4 records below.

Before we can book it — 04 questions

A-517.01What is down
A photograph is worth more than a description here. Send what you can see.
A-517.02Anything on a wire
Trees on hydro lines are the utility's job, not ours, and we will tell you so rather than touch it.
A-517.03Where the pile goes
Burn pile, brush pile, or off site.
A-517.04Are you there
If not, say so — we photograph the work and send it.

04 RECORDS

The restoration this machine feeds

These are finished restoration jobs from the book, photographed as they wrapped up. None of them were taken with the machine — it has not been here a full season yet. They are on this sheet because they are the work the machine is bought to serve: Storm work often turns up something structural. If it does, we quote that as its own job rather than fixing it on the clock.
